How we review
We do not publish star ratings. Instead, each part of Mad Casino's offer is examined on its own terms, and the result is an explanation rather than a score. This page describes that process.
Step one: the source documents
We start with the operator's general terms, bonus terms, cashback terms and payment page, plus the information screens of individual games. Third-party summaries are used only to spot things worth checking, never as the basis for a figure.
Step two: model the rule
Each rule is turned into a calculation. For wagering, that means bonus × multiple. For cashback, settled stakes minus settled returns, × 20%, capped at €500. We then run several realistic scenarios — small, medium and large deposits — so readers can find one close to their own.
Step three: look for the edge cases
Most player problems happen at the edges: a stake just over the limit, a deposit just under the minimum, a bet that settles after the cashback window closes. We look for those deliberately and write them up.
Step four: licensing and recourse
We record the licence the operator states and explain what it means for UK readers — in particular, whether GAMSTOP applies and where complaints go.
Step five: payments and verification
We list advertised payment methods and processing times, and describe typical industry timings for each method separately, so that the operator's claim and the payment network's reality are not blurred together.
Why no scores?
A single score hides the trade-offs. A bonus that suits a slots player can be close to worthless for someone who plays live blackjack. We would rather give each reader the numbers and let them decide.
When we revisit a review
Every explainer is revisited at least monthly, and straight away when the operator changes a headline offer, its licence information or its payment list. Reader reports also trigger a fresh check. Where a change alters the conclusion of a page — say, a contribution rate rising or a cap falling — the worked examples are recalculated from the beginning rather than patched.
