Fact-checking policy
Explainers are only useful if the numbers in them are right. This policy describes how we make sure they are.
Advertised versus verified
Most of what any outsider can say about a casino's offer is what the casino says about itself. We label such claims “as advertised”. Where we have independently confirmed something — for example, the RTP shown in a game's own help screen — we say so. We do not present an operator's marketing claim as an established fact.
Checking figures
- Every percentage, cap and multiple is taken from the operator's own published terms.
- Every worked example is recalculated by a second pass before publication.
- Totals in tables are checked against their components — for example, that the five tier caps sum to €7,500 and the deposits to €5,816.
- Dates and time windows, such as the cashback week, are quoted exactly as written, including time zone.
Legal and regulatory statements
Statements about the UK regime — GAMSTOP's scope, the Gambling Commission's remit, the tax position on winnings — are checked against the relevant official or charity source. We do not give legal advice, and nothing on the site should be read as such.
Review cycle
Figures are rechecked at least monthly. Pages carry a “last checked” date, which is updated only when a check has actually taken place.
Challenging a fact
If you think something is wrong, email [email protected] with the page and the source you are relying on. We will check it, reply, and correct the page if needed.
A worked example of a check
Take the claim that the full welcome stack needs €5,816 in deposits. We confirm each tier's cap and match rate in the bonus terms, divide each cap by its match rate to find the qualifying deposit — €500 at 200% is €250, €1,000 at 150% is €666.67, rounded to €667 — and sum the five results. Only when our total matches the advertised figure does it go on the page. If it did not, we would publish our own figure and explain the difference.
